Providing a first class financial planning service requires a multitude of skills. At Sequence we have assembled a highly qualified and experienced team which prides itself on providing the highest standard of client service. Advice is provided by Financial Planners who have achieved the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS) as a minimum, and our support team have a long experience of working in financial services. We adopt a team approach for the delivery of our service. Not only does this provide continuity of service while staff are away from the office but it also means that we each work to our strengths.
Rob is Managing Director of Sequence Financial Management, and has over fifteen years’ industry experience. Rob studied in Sheffield and achieved a 2:1 BA Honours in Financial Services before completing his professional qualifications while training within a financial advisory practice. Rob provides a full range of advice to both corporate and individual clients specialising in Pensions (SIPP & SSAS), Investments, Alternative Investments, Tax Planning and Finance. Rob is a Manchester United season ticket holder and his hobbies include cooking, socialising, travel, and spending time with his family.
Iain is an Associate of the Personal Finance Society (APFS) and Member of the Institute of Financial Planning (MIFP), diploma qualified and holds the full Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) as well as six Advanced FPC qualifications including ‘Business Management’, ‘Corporate Investment Planning’, 'Taxation & Trusts' and 'Pensions' (G60). Iain specialises in offering advice to business owners and directors and has practical experience of owning and managing small to medium sized enterprises having held the position of MD in two companies as well as offering executive and non-executive support to several small enterprises. He is also our designated Pension Transfer Specialist and Development Director at Sequence FM. Away from work Iain is a season ticket holder at Liverpool FC, plays bass guitar for a covers band called The Reform, is married to Caroline and has four grown-up children and two grandchildren.
Simon went to Kings Grammar School in Macclesfield before joining a local engineering company. For the past 36 years’ worked in the Financial Services industry dating back to January 1980. He spent the first 27 years working within the 'Home Services' sector, employed by Royal London then CIS and latterly as an Independent Financial Adviser.
He specialises in advising on Pensions and Investments but he has a broad experience in all areas of Financial Planning. Simon enjoys meeting with friends in his local quiz league and holidaying in warmer climates. He is also an avid Manchester United supporter going to as many games as he can. He has been married for 31 years with three grown up children and a proud Granddad.
John has worked within the Banking industry since 1990 and he undertook many different roles at NatWest before settling on Relationship Management around the year 2000. From newly qualified graduates who are embarking on their careers through to Investment Bankers of Canary Wharf, John has always strived to offer the most personable and professional finance based relationship service to all clients he has worked with.
John has BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Leicester; the Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP), the Certificate for Financial Advisers (CeFA) and the Diploma for Financial Advice (DipFA) which means he is authorised to provide advice across your mortgage, protection and investment needs.
John lives near Southport and can be seen, when the weather is fine mind, walking his puppy, Han Solo, over the Ainsdale sand dunes. He lives with his partner, Liz, and an assortment of up to four children they seem to have picked up along the way from previous experiences. Aged between 13 and 19 its understandable he sometimes loses track! As such, John certainly sees the importance of holistic financial advice because many family lives are more complicated than in previous generations hence the even greater importance of getting the right advice.
Toni is the Operations & Compliance Manager of Sequence Financial Management, and has over twenty years’ industry experience. Toni provides over-sight of all the firms activity including training delivery, quality output, procedure writing and technical desk-side assistance to the team. Historically Toni specialised predominantly in Pensions (SIPP & SSAS) branching out in the full advice market 4 years ago. Toni is a mum of three, but when she has any time left over her hobbies include socialising, travel, reading and spending time with her family.
Mark Holleran, is a highly experienced and well connected corporate finance and business advisor, having twice been shortlisted at the North-West Business Insider Awards as well as being a practising solicitor in England. Mark's experience in both corporate finance private practice at one of the World's leading law firms for over ten years before establishing and chairing a listed public company investment bank in an executive role has given him unique experience in micro and macro capitalised equity markets, flotations, fundraisings, transaction structuring and distressed business situations. He has experience in the financial services sector from a regulatory and operational perspective and acts as a consultant and non-executive director to a number of both public and private companies.
Carl has worked within financial services for over 10 years on his way to becoming a Chartered Financial Planner and, during this time, has gained a broad experience of all aspects of financial advice. Having started out as a mortgage adviser, he has since branched out into offering a full range of advice including pensions, investments and tax planning. Outside of work, Carl is a seasoned traveller and tries to explore new parts of the globe as often as he can. He is also a keen footballer and enjoys cooking, socialising and frequent visits to the cinema.
Ray joined Sequence in November 2017 and is our Client Relationship Manager, providing support to our adviser team in the delivery of our ongoing client services. Ray has had a long career in financial services, having started back in 1985 collecting premiums door to door for Pearl Assurance in Chester, his home town, before becoming an Independent Financial Adviser in 1987. As such he has experienced the full gamut of evolvement of financial advice services. Ray is ‘welded’ to Chester and he is an avid supporter of Chester Football Club, being one of the many community club owners. Ray has been married to Tracy for nearly 30 years and he has three grown up children all of whom have now (thankfully, he says) left home. Ray enjoys overseas travel and ranks his flight over the Grand Canyon as the highlight.
Jonathan has worked in various roles within financial services for over 15 years. He started his career working as a researcher at a Bramhall based financial advisory practice where he gained his first financial qualification (FPC1) before moving on to life insurance sales for another local firm in Alderley Edge where he later gained his FPC2. Since then Jonathan gained further sales experience working in the fast-paced financial recruitment industry before returning client side in 2010 when he began working with Sequence as a Business Development Manager. Jonathan’s role within the business is to promote and market the Sequence brand across the North West, assisting new clients both corporate and personal in obtaining the required advice they need to achieve their retirement goals. When Jonathan is not on the phone he enjoys watching his son play football, spending time with his family, keeping fit and listening to music.
Tony joined Sequence in October 2017 and he brings more than 13 years of experience within financial services across a variety of Operational roles. As our business systems analyst, he is responsible for a number of key areas and also provides support to any projects that the firm undertakes. He holds a Foundation level Prince2 qualification as well as a Certificate in Requirement Engineering. In his spare time he enjoys eating out, meeting up with friends, going to the cinema, watching Formula 1 as well as supporting Manchester United. Tony also enjoys taking part in Tough Mudder, Rough Runner & Total Warrior events, not to mention a new found interest in boxing.
Gareth joined Sequence in May 2018 and is now our Senior Paraplanner, providing technical and research support to our Financial Advisers. He has worked in the financial services industry for many years gaining valuable experience in various roles within financial advisory firms, and working as a qualified Paraplanner since November 2016 after he passed his Diploma in Financial Advice. He is currently studying towards Chartered Status and hopes to achieve this over the next few years. Outside of work Gareth enjoys spending time with his partner Gem and taking their Yorkshire Terrier ‘Dougie’ on walks (often with a pub on route!). Gareth is also a big Liverpool fan and enjoys playing darts as well as going to the cinema, concerts and eating out.
Mark joined Sequence in May 2018 and has worked in financial services since 2001 having previously worked for several SIPP & SSAS pension providers. Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his partner and young daughter Poppy and going on days out. A keen supporter, and season ticket holder, at both Salford Red Devils RLFC and Salford City FC, he follows both teams home and away as often as he can. He also has keen interests in History and photography and currently holds a National League Football photography licence. Mark is also a bit of a self-confessed geek and loves anything Marvel.
Justine grew up in Alderley Edge, attending Harefield High School, Wilmslow before completing a secretarial course at Macclesfield College. Justine brings to Sequence a wealth of office experience with a career to date that has included varied responsible positions all of which have required an eye for detail and working to deadlines and strict guidelines. From working within the accounts department at Kobo Transmissions; acting as Personal Assistant to 3 regulatory officers in the Regulatory Department in Astra Zeneca, to working as a Medical Secretary within the Psychiatry department at Macclesfield hospital.
Justine joined Financial Services in 2013, working with clients within both a Stockbroking office and Financial Adviser operation.
Justine has been happily married to Philip for 25 years and they have lived in Knutsford ever since. She has also managed to squeeze in having three children, Oliver, Meg and Charlie. She has various hobbies including singing in the Equali Ladies Choir, escaping for weekends away in the caravan and baking (the Bakewell tart is particularly appreciated by her colleagues!).
Lucy started working for Sequence Financial Management in March 2016 having previously worked for Nationwide Network Services. She is looking to start a financial services qualification in 2017 having excelled in her Client services role. When not in work, Lucy enjoys spending time with her partner, James, and her 4 cats, 2 rabbits, and dog. Also, in her spare time, Lucy likes to read and is very interested in a variety of sciences but in particular, microbiology.
Jay has worked in financial services for the last three years, largely at AJ Bell dealing with the administration of their SIPP products. Jay felt good about helping customers achieve their goals; varying from buying a new car using their retirement pot or a holiday home abroad.
Jay is originally from Rotherham having moved to Manchester a couple of years ago to enjoy the fast-paced city life. He is now settled in Warrington with his partner Adam, along with their dog and 2 rabbits. Outside of work Jay has a keen interest in health psychology and is working towards a counselling qualification. He enjoys reading thriller books as well as watching crime dramas, and when the sun is shining he loves nothing more than long country walks with the dog.
